3 STEPS (IN NO CERTAIN ORDER) EACH PARENT MUST COMPLETE
- FILL OUT ATHLETE REGISTRATION (Needs to be resigned each year)
- PAY ACTIVITY FEE
ACTIVITY FEES
Lowell Area Schools instituted an activity fee in the 1991-92 school year to help offset the costs of funding the athletic program. The fee has been modified several times to its current form which requires a fee of $95.00 per season for high school sports and $60.00 per season for middle school sports. To reduce costs for families or individuals who have multiple sport participants, pay for every two, get every third sport free was created. Only school-funded sports are eligible for this program (non-funded sports include but are not limited to Bowling, Crew, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Ski, and MS baseball, cheer, football, and softball, and they have their own set fees payable to that sport). Families wishing to take advantage of this program should pick up a form available in the Athletic Office, Middle School Office, or on the website, fill it out and return it. This form is to provide verification of the athletes and the sports they have participated in. Those students who qualify for federal assistance through the free or reduced lunch program are exempt from the activity fee and should fill out and return the form sent to them by our Food Service Department. You will then need to notify the Athletic Office that you are on this program and would like to waive the activity fee. The payment of the activity fee in no way guarantees playing time but rather the opportunity to be a member of the team, playing time decisions are made bythe coaching staff.
